SUMMARY:Intro to Table Talks - Penticton
DESCRIPTION:Join us to experience Table Talks  \nTable Talks is for settlers who are ready to learn\, reflect\, and support one another to take action for reconciliation. \nFind out how you can bring Table Talks to your community or workplace. \nYour Hosts \nKELLY TERBASKET\, Program Director at IndigenEYEZ and kinSHIFT \nKIM ENGLISH\, Regional Development Manager\, Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen. \nWho is this Info Session for? \nThis session is for anyone interested in taking concrete action by engaging in courageous conversations about reconciliation with family\, friends\, or coworkers. \nDate \nPENTICTON: Wed\, May 13 | Okanagan College\, Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence\, 583 Duncan Avenue\, Room PC113 \nWhat is Table Talks? \nDesigned in the Similkameen by an Indigenous-led team\, this user-friendly resource supports courageous conversations about reconciliation.  Table Talks begins with an Info Session that leads to 4 subsequent workshops for those who wish to embark on the journey. \nWe’re hosting these Info Sessions to amplify the invitation for the people and organizations of the Okanagan to further reconciliation in our region. \nThe Vision \nTable Talks was inspired by the desire to help settlers get more comfortable talking about colonization and how it has impacted us all. \nThe program aims to deepen curiosity and understanding about how our colonial history has shaped our relationships with each other\, laying the foundation for Indigenous peoples and settlers to work together to create a future that benefits all of us—and our children. \nWhy Table Talks? \nCourageous conversations are challenging. People are afraid of doing or saying the wrong thing. A good place to tackle this hard work is around our kitchen tables with family and friends—or around the boardroom table with colleagues. \nTable Talks shares a well-resourced path for venturing into these important conversations with others who are also interested in moving the dial on reconciliation. \nCome and discover our helpful resources to guide these conversations! \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Possibility Circle: Neighbour-Led Learning & Action #6
DESCRIPTION:The Possibility Circle is a monthly gathering for neighbours who want to strengthen connections\, share ideas\, and explore what’s possible where they live. Rooted in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD)\, this circle brings people together to learn from one another\, celebrate small wins\, and grow local action – one spark at a time. \nMany participants are current or past Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) project leaders\, volunteers\, or folks who are simply curious about getting involved. The Circle offers a supportive space to reflect on NSG experiences\, develop new ideas\, and explore how small\, neighbour-led moments can grow into lasting community impact. \nEveryone is welcome – whether you’ve hosted an NSG project\, are dreaming up your first one\, or are just looking for a place to connect with others in your community. Throughout the year\, guest speakers from the Tamarack Institute and kinSHIFT will join us to share stories\, tools\, and perspectives that support neighbour-led learning and action. \nThis is an online circle\, you are encouraged to bring your dinner\, settle in from wherever you are\, and join us for an hour and a half of connection\, learning\, and possibility.

SUMMARY:Possibility Circle: Neighbour-Led Learning & Action #12
