The Gathering of the Ghouls at Lakeshore Towers
We would like to give a great big thank you to the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan-Similkameen (CFOS) for providing the funding for this amazing event!
The best part of this event, by far, was the community spirit that we all found through either helping to get everything together (no small task!) or taking part in the diverse and fun activities for all ages. Our age range for participation was 4 months to 75 years of age and everyone had a great time – together! We received great feedback from guests and organizers and we are already planning to make this an annual event. Thank you to Lakeshore Towers Strata and Management for your support in making this event a success.
Over 25 units decorated their entryways and opened their doors to over 50 little ghoulies for our trick-or-treating. The costumes were amazing and fun for all! We had residents that have lived in the Towers community since they were built and never had the chance to receive even one trick-or-treater; they were so happy to see the children in their costumes. We had a one-man-band playing and leading “The Monster Mash” to get the trick-or-treaters ready to be extra scary.
The kids (and daring adults) played games including Witch’s Brew, Boogie Man, Pumpkin Carving, and Trick-or-Treat Balloon Pops. Our photo booth was available for prop photos. Later on in the evening, adults enjoyed a potluck feast, daring feats including larva-tasting, and overall had a great time meeting neighbours and getting to know one another.
We were all truly so lucky to have this opportunity, and we have a long list of volunteers and participants lined up for next year!
