It was a bitterly cold, windy and rainy Saturday afternoon when neighbours from the Heritage Hills/Lakeshore Highlands Homeowner’s Association held its park dedication celebration. The volunteers of the Hastings Avenue Community Garden at the Village by the Station Residential Care Home, 270 Hastings Avenue held their 2nd annual garden party Sunday, August 20, 2017. Bluebird Project

Our goal through this project was to build a set of Bluebird nesting boxes that could be set up on a local property owned by the Nature Trust. A couple of weeks ago we made our box plan and planted a variety of native plants on the property. We had a wonderful day building the boxes! Fall Apricot Heritage Event

This was the second part of our project focusing on (1)building new relationships among neighbourhood residents, (2) providing opportunities for participants to learn from each other and (3) connect people across boundaries of age.
