Fall Apricot Heritage Event

This was the second part of our project focusing on (1)building new relationships among neighbourhood residents, (2) providing opportunities for participants to learn from each other and (3) connect people across boundaries of age. Family Party in the Park

This was the first event of a two part project to build new relationships among neighbourhood residents as well as providing opportunities for participants to learn from each other. Approximately 45 people turned out on July 18 to learn how to play pickle ball, bocce ball and croquet. Taiko Drumming Workshop, Dinner & Concert with Onibana Taiko

We hosted Onibana Taiko from Vancouver, who conducted a taiko drumming workshop, followed by a dinner and concert. The workshop culminated in two short "performances" by the participants, who were divided into two groups who then took turns playing a piece for each other (and early birds to the dinner). Sparton - East Newton Neighbourhood Party

The West Bench neighbourhood of Sparton Dr and East Newton Dr gathered for a BBQ on September 24th for what was a first public social for this small community. As a semi-rural area, neighbours may have less opportunity to interact otherwise, so the event was welcomed by everyone.
