Thanks to a Neighbourhood Small Grant, our community came together in the park to celebrate Canada Day. The grant covered the cost of live music, event insurance, and even a bit of ice to keep drinks cool on a hot summer day.
Neighbours were invited through posters and emails, and the turnout was fantastic! Folks pitched in to set up tents, flip burgers, hand out water, and help with clean-up. The music, laughter, and connection reminded us that in our busy lives, we don’t always get the chance to meet our neighbours – but when we do, it makes all the difference.
This was our second community event this year (the first being an Easter Egg Hunt that brought out 60 kids!), and with the positive feedback, we’re already looking forward to hosting again.
A huge thank-you to the volunteers, neighbours, and to the Neighbourhood Small Grants program for making it possible to create these moments of joy and connection close to home.
