What is Table Talks?
Designed in the Similkameen by an Indigenous-led team, this user-friendly resource supports courageous conversations about reconciliation. Table Talks begins with an Info Session that leads to 4 subsequent workshops for those who wish to embark on the journey.
We’re hosting these Info Sessions to amplify the invitation for the people and organizations of the Okanagan to further reconciliation in our region.
The Vision
Table Talks was inspired by the desire to help settlers get more comfortable talking about colonization and how it has impacted us all.
The program aims to deepen curiosity and understanding about how our colonial history has shaped our relationships with each other, laying the foundation for Indigenous peoples and settlers to work together to create a future that benefits all of us—and our children.
Why Table Talks?
Courageous conversations are challenging. People are afraid of doing or saying the wrong thing. A good place to tackle this hard work is around our kitchen tables with family and friends—or around the boardroom table with colleagues.
Table Talks shares a well-resourced path for venturing into these important conversations with others who are also interested in moving the dial on reconciliation.
Come and discover our helpful resources to guide these conversations!
