Valery joined the Community Foundation in January 2026 to manage the organization’s communications strategy and bring community stories to life. Her work focuses on building meaningful connections with donors, partners, and the broader community through clear, thoughtful, and engaging storytelling.
Prior to joining the Foundation team, Valery led communications in the non-profit healthcare sector and honed her production and project management skills across a range of creative industries. Her background as a photographer and musician informs her storytelling approach, bringing a strong visual sensibility and creative perspective to her work.
Since relocating from Toronto in May 2020, Valery has drawn inspiration from her surroundings in snpintktn (Penticton) on the unceded ancestral territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) People. She enjoys spending time with her partner and two pups.
