On June 17th, 100 Women Who Care South Okanagan gathered at Summerland Heritage Cidery Co. for a lively summer meeting and open house. The cidery was full of members and first-time guests, many dressed in yellow and black to match the “Bee Kind” theme.
Members heard from three organizations working on the area of “emergency crisis and support”:
- Discovery House, and
- Keremeos Victim Services Program (Lower Similkameen Community Services Society)
After a very close vote, and for the first time in our group’s history, the $8,650 giving pot was split equally among all three — a decision that was met with cheers from members who were clearly moved by the strength of all three presentations.
Alongside the presentations, the events provide time for members to connect with each other. A photo scavenger hunt encouraged people to mix and mingle, and Reggie, the cidery’s resident golden retriever, quickly became the most popular attendee of the evening.
Thank you to Summerland Heritage Cidery Co. for hosting, to Beanery for catering our event, and to our 2026 sponsors Engel & Volkers, Gneiss Wines, and Avery Law. And thank you to our members who continue to show up and make this collective impact possible.
