Alcohol Use Disorder Project

Continuing the legacy of local family physician, Dr. Jeff Harries, the Community Foundation, in partnership with the Canadian Alcohol Use Disorder Society, is providing hope through a project that aims to change the way we think about alcohol use disorder and the way we treat it.

After all, Alcohol Use Disorder is a medical condition, which causes intense cravings and painful withdrawal, making it so that some people are compelled to drink, to drink too much and not be able to stop. A compassionate approach, which can include the prescribing of medications to eliminate cravings, makes a full recovery possible for just about everyone.
