For many in our communities, the need for assistance from food banks becomes particularly great during the holidays. This year, the Okanagan Fest of Ale Society is stepping up to help, through their Legacy Fund held with the Community Foundation.

In the spirit of the season, the Okanagan Fest of Ale Legacy Fund will give $4,680 that will be shared between six food banks in the South Okanagan Similkameen. “We’re honoured to be making this contribution to help keep food on the table for individuals and families facing difficult times,” says the Fest of Ale President, Michael Stokker. “This holiday, we encourage anyone who has the means to support their local food bank. Thanks to all of the partners, volunteers and participants who attended last year’s Fest of Ale and helped make this contribution possible.”

The Food Banks Canada website has contact information for food banks in the South Okanagan Similkameen. You can search for your local food bank here.
