New technology in fight against bullying

Okanagan-based anti-bullying organization STOP A BULLY received a financial grant from the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan | Similkameen.

The community focussed organization donated over $3,500 towards technological upgrades to assist Stop A Bully with expansion and development.

Trevor Knowlton, Program Director, said, “This generous donation from the Community Foundation will help us purchase computers for our volunteers to use and will help us better manage the demands of the Stop A Bully Program.

As all of our volunteers have full-time careers, it is critical that they have the technology to complete Stop A Bully work outside of the Summerland office.”

The Stop A Bully organization continues to raise awareness and funds to help combat the issue of bullying and cyber-bullying in schools, this most recent donation will better equip staff and volunteers to increase awareness and continue with program expansion.

STOP A BULLY is a non-profit organization based in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada, and was founded by a BC teacher in 2009 after a bullying incident at his school.
