The Community Foundation has been asked to facilitate this conversation with community members who care deeply about the arts and what the Dream Café represents. After consultation with several interested parties, the board of the Dream Cafe Co-op and the owners of the building, one proponent has moved forward with a detailed business plan.
It proposes forming a nonprofit society, with the goal of eventually becoming a registered charity, an approach that aims to preserve the Café’s spirit while building a more sustainable and impactful future, both artistically and financially.
We know the Dream Café has faced challenges, and we also know many in the community have already given a lot. But we believe this new direction offers a chance to turn the page and we’re inviting you to hear more, ask questions, and consider what role you might play in helping save one of Penticton’s cultural cornerstones.
