What is a community foundation?

Community foundations are all about people giving back to their community!

Why are we growing a Community Foundation?

Because it....

• Helps newborns develop and grow;
• Assists the elderly in staying active and independent;
• Supports places where families can learn and play together;
• Helps insure support systems are there when we need them;
• Assists in preserving history - natural and man-made;
• Encourages youth to be active community citizens;
• Supports art and education throughout our lives;
• Assists in the protection and humane treatment of animals;
• Helps look after green spaces and landscapes;
• Responds to evolving community needs and opportunities;
• Helps people give back to the community

And because it will be here  - forever!

Throughout the region, there is a growing interest in the establishment of legacy endowment funds and in community foundations as a forward-thinking way of supporting community needs and opportunities forever.
